\n\tAGI Denim<\/a> is leveraging the shift toward relaxed silhouettes and expanded proportions to give fabrics and washes greater room to express their story.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe are seeing a stronger connection between denim and lifestyle, with people increasingly drawn to products that feel good on the body while also supporting a more considered way of living,\u201d said Henry Wong<\/a>, AGI Denim<\/a> vice president of product development and marketing. \u201cBuilding on our expertise in innovation and sustainability, we focused on creating denim that connects to the broader concept of wellness<\/a> through softness, flexibility, ease, cozy textures and responsible practices.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tThis thinking became AGI\u2019<\/a>s The Wellness<\/a> Edit, a holistic approach to denim that is better for the planet, better to wear, and designed to resonate with how consumers want to feel in everyday life. Four collections\u2014Essentials, Grounded, Cocoon and Beauty Boost\u2014capture this mindset for Fall\/Winter 2027-2028<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\tEssentials offers fabrics with raw, homespun character. Neps and irregularity evoke a hand-loomed fabric with a strong sense of authenticity. Cocoon provides comfort through soft, cozy textures achieved by brushing and flocking. Wong added that it is denim designed to feel relaxed and comforting while still maintaining an elevated, modern look.<\/p>\n

\n\tFor Beauty Boost, the mill takes inspiration from skincare by using Umorfil<\/a>, a fiber made from upcycled fish scales, enriched with collagen peptides. The result is denim that is exceptionally soft and smooth. \u201cWe are also incorporating sculpting technologies to create supportive fits that enhance confidence,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\n\tMeanwhile, Grounded highlights AGI\u2019s work with natural fibers such as hemp, linen, regenerative cotton and other specialty cotton.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cFor us, the magic is in the mix,\u201d Wong said about the mill\u2019s fiber blends. \u201cWe are not relying on a single hero fiber. It is about taking a thoughtful approach.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tAt its core, Wong said AGI is committed to Better Cotton<\/a>, regenerative cotton and recycled cotton. \u201cThis forms the foundation of responsible, authentic denim. When performance is required, such as added strength or the right amount of stretch, we incorporate recycled synthetics in a targeted and considered way,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tAGI also works extensively with Tencel lyocell for its natural fluidity, drape and softness. In the past, AGI have explored fibers such as cashmere and silk. This season, Wong said wool felt like a natural progression. \u201cIt introduces warmth, texture and refined softness, elevating denim while remaining true to its inherently rugged character,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tAGI\u2019s strategy for color is to build on what works. The mill is deepening its family of green-cast indigos, including Pine Blue, Clover Blue and Jade Blue, while also refining its brown-cast shades such as Oxford Blue.<\/p>\n

\n\tWong noted that new \u201csandwich\u201d shades introduce greater depth and nuance during the washing process. \u201cThese constructions allow for more variation and dimension in the final appearance. We believe this expanded palette will offer designers new opportunities to experiment and create,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\n\tIndigo Roots, a family of fabrics ranging from raw denim with distinctive character to one-wash finishes, tinted light shades and lived-in surfaces, satiates the market\u2019s growing appetite for authenticity. <\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt is about respecting the elements that have always defined denim, from honest indigo to washes that feel naturally evolved over time, and textures that can be seen and felt,\u201d Wong said. \u201cIt speaks to denim enthusiasts who value the right cast of indigo, how it fades and how it softens over time.
