These efforts have yielded significant progress,&#8221; \u200bU.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said \u200cin the letter to Anthropic.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">Lutnick added that an export license will no longer be needed for Claude Mythos 5 Model to trusted companies and their foreign national employees, or to Anthropic&#8217;s foreign national employees but restrictions will remain in place for companies that are not on the approved list.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">&#8220;In just two weeks, we have worked diligently to ensure \u200cAmerica remains the global leader in AI while \u200bsafeguarding our security,&#8221; a Commerce Department spokesperson said.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">The letter \u200bdid not mention the status of \u200bFable 5.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">The government is moving towards allowing Anthropic to release Fable \u200cas well, although a timeline is unclear, \u200bthe source said.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"text text-block paragraph text-left neo-font-paragraph-xl-reg  yf-18d6y07\" style=\"text-decoration: none; font-style: normal; text-transform: none; text-align: inherit; font-variant-numeric: normal;\">IPO-bound Anthropic&#8217;s \u200brelationship with the U.S. government has been rocky this year.
