On Thursday, the company says it is expanding this capability to <a href=\"https:\/\/petapixel.com\/2026\/03\/03\/google-rolls-out-pro-ai-image-features-for-everyone-in-nano-banana-2-update\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Nano Banana 2<\/a>, enabling it to use personal context to produce personalized images. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday, we\u2019re introducing new ways for Gemini to use your interests and preferences with Nano Banana 2 and Google Photos to make image generation \u2014 one of your favorite ways to use Gemini \u2014  feel deeply personal,\u201d the company <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/innovation-and-ai\/products\/gemini-app\/personal-intelligence-nano-banana\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\">writes in a blog post.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The update allows users who opt in to connect Personal Intelligence with the Gemini chatbot. Once enabled, Nano Banana 2 can generate images using information from a user\u2019s private Google Photos library, removing the need to manually upload images or provide detailed descriptions.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2026\/04\/16\/google-adds-nano-banana-powered-image-generation-to-geminis-personal-intelligence\/\" data-wpel-link=\"external\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"follow external noopener nofollow\">According to TechCrunch,<\/a> this works because Gemini already has contextual information about a user through connections with Google services such as Gmail and Google Photos. As a result, users can enter simpler prompts. For example, instead of writing \u201cGenerate an image of my dream home, my interests are tennis and music,\u201d a user could simply say, \u201cDesign my dream home.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Google says the feature can also use labels within Google Photos to better understand relationships and groups, such as \u201cFamily.\u201d For example, rather than uploading a photo and describing it in detail, a user could just ask Gemini to \u201cMake a claymation image of my family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>To increase transparency, the company says a \u201csources\u201d button will show how Gemini derived the context used in generating an image.
