{"id":93423,"date":"2026-07-02T16:06:09","date_gmt":"2026-07-02T16:06:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/93423\/"},"modified":"2026-07-02T16:06:09","modified_gmt":"2026-07-02T16:06:09","slug":"cognizant-applies-openai-gpt-5-5-to-speed-enterprise-cyber-defense-fixes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/ai\/93423\/","title":{"rendered":"Cognizant applies OpenAI GPT-5.5 to speed enterprise cyber defense fixes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Cognizant is applying OpenAI\u2019s GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber to help enterprise clients move more quickly from discovering software vulnerabilities to validating and fixing them, the company announced.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is part of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.roi-nj.com\/2026\/04\/23\/tech\/cognizant-picked-by-openai-to-scale-impact-of-codex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Cognizant<\/a>\u2019s Frontier AI Cyber Defense services and its participation in the OpenAI Daybreak Cyber Partner Program. Cognizant said the technology will be used by its security professionals across authorized defensive workflows, including secure code review, threat modeling, vulnerability discovery and validation, detection engineering, threat hunting, and incident investigation and response.<\/p>\n<p>The company said frontier AI tools can help security teams identify vulnerabilities across large and complex codebases with greater speed and scale. But Cognizant said the larger challenge for enterprises is closing the gap between identifying a vulnerability and determining whether it is real, assessing its impact, testing a patch and deploying a fix before attackers can exploit it.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrontier AI has changed the equation for cyber defense, but a model\u2019s power only matters in how it is applied inside a real enterprise,\u201d said Sandra Notardonato, global head of partner development and influencer relations at Cognizant. \u201cOur security teams bring these capabilities into our clients\u2019 code and security operations, helping them move from finding exposures to validating and remediating them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Cognizant said its cybersecurity practice includes more than 5,000 security professionals and has experience serving regulated industries. The company said the new AI capabilities are intended to support existing enterprise security workflows, with human validation and oversight at each step. Cognizant said the tools are designed to augment existing controls and monitoring, not replace them.<\/p>\n<p>OpenAI said partners will be important in bringing advanced cyber tools into enterprise environments.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrontier cyber capability reaches more defenders when partners can operationalize it inside the trusted workflows enterprises already use every day,\u201d said Colleen Kapase, vice president of strategic global partnerships and ecosystems at OpenAI.<\/p>\n<p>Cognizant said it is first applying the capabilities within its own security operations, describing itself as \u201cClient Zero.\u201d Internal use cases include secure code review, vulnerability triage and validation, and pull-request and CI\/CD security review.<\/p>\n<p>The company said it is using GPT-5.5 with Trusted Access for Cyber across its own products, platforms and internal repositories to accelerate vulnerability management from discovery through remediation.
