The technology giant has developed a series of features designed to assist travelers in planning and carrying out their adventures. Among these, we will especially highlight the updates to real-time translation and the hotel price tracking feature in Google Search, as both are already available in Spain.

Simultaneous translation

Google has incorporated advanced voice model technology from Gemini to update the real-time translation feature of the Google Translate application, available for both iOS and Android. Thanks to these improvements, you are now able to use your headphones as pocket translation devices capable of interpreting more than 70 languages in real time.

According to statements from Google, this feature “not only translates words, but also preserves the speaker’s original tone and cadence, helping you stay present in the moment throughout your trip.” In this way, you can use live translation to connect with other cultures and languages, whether you are speaking with other individuals, talking to a shopkeeper, or understanding subway announcements in another country.

Hotel Price tracking in Search

Google Search allows you to check hotel prices at both the citywide and individual property level. To explore the prices of a specific hotel, you may navigate directly to google.com/hotels or conduct a regular search from your computer or mobile phone.

“To begin on your computer, go to Search and look up a specific hotel by its name; then, click the new price tracking button. On your mobile device, you will find the price tracking option in the Prices tab once you perform your search.”

Additionally, you may configure the feature to receive an email notification should prices for your selected dates change significantly. The price tracking feature for individual hotels has already been activated worldwide for registered users in both English and Spanish.

Other features for planning your trips with Google’s AI

In addition to these two updates, Google has introduced several other new developments related to travel planning. However, most of these remain in an early rollout stage, with availability currently limited mainly to the United States.

Personalized travel plans with Canvas in AI Mode

Google users in the United States may now select the “Canvas” tool from the dropdown menu in AI Mode and begin organizing their vacations in a structured, adjacent view. As the user enters requests or questions, the AI automatically generates a personalized itinerary (daily plans, flights, hotels, map, etc.) in the left side panel of the screen.

Another advantage of this feature is that AI Mode automatically saves your progress, so you can pause your work and continue at a later time without losing any data.

Restaurant reservations with AI

The combination of AI features and Ask Maps from Google enables you, via AI Mode, to describe your requirements (type of cuisine desired, number of guests, desired reservation time, location, etc.) and instantly receive a list of links to complete your reservation.

The restaurant reservation feature powered by AI agents is now available in the United States, United Kingdom, India, Canada, and Australia. Likewise, it is also active in Ask Maps in the United States and India.

Google can call local stores for your last-minute shopping

In the coming weeks, Google will begin to activate a feature in the United States within AI Mode that, leveraging Gemini models and Duplex technology, can make calls to local stores to gather information about the availability and prices of products you may need.

Google had already activated its AI-driven call agent feature for local businesses in Search for subscribers to Google AI Pro and AI Ultra plans in the United States as of July 2025.

Explore in depth with Ask Maps

The Ask Maps feature provides a conversational search experience within Maps, allowing you to make detailed inquiries and receive relevant details regarding the places you wish to visit. Powered by Gemini AI, Ask Maps analyzes the most up-to-date information within Maps and organizes it to deliver comprehensive conversational answers.

Google provides the following example: “Imagine you want to go camping on July 4, but do not wish to forgo certain comforts. Tap Ask Maps and say: ‘I am looking for campgrounds with hiking trails, wildlife watching opportunities, and photos of the sunset, but I do not want to give up access to clean bathrooms and food.’”

For now, Ask Maps has only been deployed in the United States and India, and is available for iOS, Android, and desktop computers.

ID Pass in Wallet

Google Wallet for Android enables you to securely store your boarding pass and receive real-time notifications with flight information to stay updated on delays, gate changes, and more.

Additionally, Wallet now allows you to create and store an ID pass (or digital identifier) using your passport, keeping your data encrypted and secure. However, this is not considered a replacement for the official passport, so you must still carry the physical document. Currently, ID passes are available only in the U.S. and United Kingdom and require possession of a U.S. or British passport.

Photo: Google

Google wants you to start thinking about your vacations and to let its AI handle them.
