Diese Gebiete wurden nach dem Zufallsprinzip eingeteilt in die Untersuchungsgruppe, in der der Malaria-Impfstoff RTS,S\/AS01E zum Standard-Impfangebot f\u00fcr Kleinkinder geh\u00f6rte, und eine Vergleichsgruppe, in der dies nicht der Fall war.
