A woman’s body has been dumped outside a building in Perth’s north.

Police rushed to Grand Boulevard in Joondalup about 9.45am where a dead woman was found.

Detective Inspector General Jayd Morawski said a man approached paramedics for help with the unresponsive woman then fled.

Inspector Morawaski said when police arrived shortly after the woman was deceased.

“The details of the male person and his involvement forms part of the investigation and for operational reasons I will not go into those details at this time,” he said.

“However, I would say if that male person is watching … please make yourself known to WA place at this point.”

The inspector general said he would not reveal how the young lady ended up on Grand Boulevard in Joondalup, but the man made himself to St John WA paramedics and sought their help before he left the area.

He said police know who the man is and that he was known to the deceased woman, and they were making every effort to contact him.

“We would like to speak to him, his knowledge of the circumstances around this morning are key to this investigation, so we do need his assistance in getting a full picture as to what occurred,” he said.

“This is an isolated matter, and as such, we don’t think the community is at any risk.”

Police are waiting to formally confirm the identity of the woman and how she died, but have spoken to her family members who are aware of her death.

Inspector Morawski said the best thing the man could do was to make himself known to police and provide answers about what happened.

“Ultimately, we have a lot of resources and a lot of technology that we will deploy to find this person,” he said.

Anyone with information about the incident or with footage is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
