A 23-year-old woman has been arrested and charged with conspiring to murder a Sydney rapper.

The woman was arrested at a Whalan home in the city’s west on Wednesday morning when it was raided by detectives accompanied by heavily armed tactical police.

Police said the woman was arrested “following extensive inquiries” into several public place shootings in Sydney earlier this year.

She was charged with conspiring and agreeing to commit a murder, participating in a criminal group and contributing to a criminal activity.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the high-profile figure allegedly targeted by the woman and other individuals was Ay Huncho, a drill rapper from Sydney and alleged gangland figure.

Last month, Huncho’s bodyguard Emilio Chalhoub was allegedly kidnapped from his family home in Guildford before he was bashed and then left in a safe house in Casula to be discovered by police.

Three men in their 20s have also been arrested in relation to the alleged murder plot and remain before the courts.

The woman will face Mount Druitt Local Court on Thursday.
