A pub in Adelaide’s inner-western suburbs is hoping to knock down its ageing premises to make way for unrecognisable new redevelopment.
The owners of Challa Gardens Hotel are seeking to redevelop the venue on 337 Torrens Rd, West Croydon.
according to planning documents lodged to PlanSA.
The existing venue would need to be demolished to make way for the revamped facility.
New venue would feature a bottle shop with a drive-through option, gaming room, sports lounge, beer garden, dining area.
A designated kids space, next to the dining area, would also equip young patrons with gaming consoles and screens rather than a traditional playground.

Despite the new venue’s expanded floor space – an extra 153 sqm for the bottle shop and 826 sqm for the hotel – the premise’ current capacity will remain the same at 702 patrons.
To minimise noise disruptions for neighbouring residents, the venue will impose several strict operational limits including closing the drive-through and the level 1 outdoor terrace at midnight.
Amplified music in the sports bar will also be reduced to background levels after midnight and deliveries will only occur between 7am to 10pm.
Challa Gardens Hotel is owned by RD Jones Group, a family owned business that runs 17 pubs across the state including The Moseley, The Gully Public House & Garden and The Woodcroft Hotel.
