Police have shot dead a man north of Brisbane, alleging he was armed with a gun and making threats.
Officers were called to a Narangba house on Cavill Way at about 12:30 this morning in relation to a domestic violence incident.
Queensland Police said the man approached officers and made threats towards them whilst armed with a firearm, and as a result was shot.
The man was given first aid and officers commenced CPR, however the man died at the scene.
A Queensland Police spokesperson said family members at the scene were treated for shock.
The matter is being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission.
Investigations are ongoing.
This is the fifth police-involved shooting in the state so far this year.
On March 3, a 21-year-old man was shot dead during a welfare check in Tingalpa in Brisbane’s east.
The next day, a man, allegedly armed with a firearm, was shot in Woombye on the Sunshine Coast following a car crash on the motorway.
On March 22, a 27-year-old man was shot at a shopping centre in Logan Central, allegedly armed with a knife.
The next month, on April 1, a 19-year-old man allegedly armed with a large kitchen knife was shot in Arana Hills in Brisbane’s north.
