Queer Club is officially turning five, and the beloved Adelaide queer music institution is celebrating the milestone the only way it knows how: with a huge lineup, a packed dancefloor and an unapologetically queer celebration of community.
Returning to Unibar ADL on June 27, this year’s Queer Club is shaping up to be its biggest yet.
Since launching in 2022, the event series has become a defining part of Adelaide’s queer nightlife and live music scene.

Creating a space where LGBTQIA+ artists and audiences can come together, connect and be completely themselves.
Curated by Tayla Carlaw of Pretty Good Thanks, Queer Club began as a one night event designed to spotlight queer artists and creatives in South Australia.
Since then, it’s grown into a full blown community institution, with events like Queermas, LOUD & QUEER and Fringe editions helping launch and support a wave of local queer talent.
“Queer Club started as the kind of space we wished existed,” Carlaw said.
“Somewhere queer people could feel completely themselves while discovering incredible local artists while celebrating in, alongside and with the community.
“What began as a one-off event has grown into something with so much life. It’s become a real community, and a platform for queer artists, performers and creatives to be seen, celebrated and supported.”
A stacked lineup of queer talent
The lineup is bringing together some of the country’s most exciting emerging queer acts.
Leading the charge is Canberra pop breakout Jett Blyton, who recently landed on the NME 100 list and has been earning praise from the likes of Sabrina Carpenter and Tove Lo thanks to viral hit Apeshit.
Joining them are crowd favourites and AC/DC opener Oscar the Wild, alongside Worm Girlz, Miss Orange Juicy, Awnings, Methylated, Hearsegirl and Monya.
No Queer Club celebration would feel complete without legendary drag performer Ophelia Butt helping bring the sparkle and energy that has become part of the event’s identity over the years.
Past Queer Club lineups have also featured huge names in Australia’s queer music scene, including aleksiah, Beks, Caroline and Claude and Egoism.
Big Gay Market and an all-ages first
The celebrations kick off from 3 pm with free entry to the Big Gay Market taking over the Unibar Cloisters.
The market will spotlight local queer artists, makers and small businesses.
Stall holder applications are still open.
And in a first for the event, this year’s Queer Club will be all ages.
Opening the doors to younger queer music fans and helping create safer and more accessible spaces for the next generation of LGBTQIA+ creatives.
“Reaching five years feels huge, not just because we’ve made it here, but because it proves these spaces matter and people want them to exist”, Carlaw said.
Tickets to Queer Club are available now via Moshtix.
