Jake Hollman has come “home” to Sydney FC.

The former Australian under-23 international has signed a three-year deal with the Sky Blues after a season in the UK with English League Two (fourth-tier) club Walsall.

“Coming back to Sydney FC feels like coming home,” said Hollman, who played youth team football for the Sky Blues before an five-season stint with Macarthur FC, where he won two Australia Cups.

“(Sydney) is the club where I developed as a player and as a person. I have so many great memories from my academy years and winning the National Youth League grand final with a fantastic group of players.

“I’ve learned a lot over the past few years, both in the A-League and during my time in England, and I feel I’m returning a better player with a lot more experience.

“Sydney FC has always been a club that expects success and that’s exactly the environment I want to be in. I can’t wait to pull on the Sky Blue jersey again and get started.”

Hollman’s return to the Sky Blues comes hot on the heels of Sydney’s confirmation that his younger brother Corey, also a midfielder, would not be returning to the club next season following the expiration of his contract.

Jake Hollman will also re-united with Sky Blues mentor Patrick Kisnorbo, who coached the now 24-year-old midfielder when he was in charge of the A-League All-Stars in 2024.

“Jake is a player we know very well and someone who understands exactly what it means to represent Sydney FC,” Kisnorbo said.

“He has come through our academy, experienced success in the A-League, tested himself overseas and is now returning as a more mature and complete footballer.

“He’s got excellent energy, quality on the ball and a tremendous work ethic.

“At 24, he is entering some of the best years of his career and we’re delighted to bring him home.”
