Police have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their investigation after an 11-year-old girl was “upskirted” on a Melbourne tram.
Victoria Police say the girl was travelling through the Melbourne CBD on the route 57 tram between 8.25am and 8.45am on May 28 when she noticed an “unknown man” sitting across from her.

“Investigators have been told the man took inappropriate images of the girl before disembarking the tram at the intersection of Errol and Quensberry Streets in North Melbourne,” a police spokesman said.
“The girl continued to school where she reported the matter and police were subsequently notified.”
Following the incident, police released a sketch of a man they believe can assist with their inquiries.
He is “perceived to be caucasian in appearance, approximately 20-30 years old with slightly curly blond shoulder-length hair”.
The man was wearing a knitted burnt orange and brown jumper with jeans, police say.
Investigators have urged anybody who may know the man, or who witnessed the incident, to contact Crime Stoppers.
