An urgent plea for help has been issued after a live animal was discovered inside a wheelie bin in Sydney’s popular Northern Beaches.
RSPCA NSW has confirmed the rottweiler had a very poor body condition, overgrown nails and a deep wound in the right side of its body.
The animal received veterinary treatment immediately, and on Tuesday, it was in a stable condition.
How the young, male animal came to be dumped inside the bin at Keirle Park in Manly remains a mystery. Only limited information has been released by the RSPCA so far.
Rottweilers are an expensive breed and can cost upwards of $5,000 when purchased from a registered seller.

A member of the public is understood to have been walking through the area in the early hours of the morning on June 11 when they found the dog.

The discovery has sparked an uproar on social media, with animal lovers from around NSW calling it “absolutely barbaric” and “horrible”.
As the bin is directly in front of the car park, RSPCA NSW is hoping someone may have CCTV or dashcam footage from the time.
