Queensland’s audio industry is no longer defined only by who wins breakfast.
The state’s most influential audio figures now sit across commercial radio, podcasting, sport, programming, digital content and the senior roles where station strategy is set.
This list recognises ratings performance, audience connection, commercial reach, cultural relevance, programming influence and the ability to build an audio platform beyond one timeslot.
1. JAMIE ANGEL
Head of the Triple M Network & Content Director, Triple M Brisbane
One of the most influential radio executives working from Brisbane. In 2026, Angel was named Head of the Triple M Network while continuing as Triple M Brisbane Content Director, giving him both national responsibility and local market influence. Triple M remained Brisbane’s No. 1 station overall in Survey 3, following its strong Survey 2 result, while the station’s breakfast team has remained among the city’s leading shows. Angel is not an on-air figure, but his role places him close to decisions around talent, format, strategy and the sound of one of Brisbane’s strongest commercial radio brands.
2. LUCY JACKSON & NIKKI WESTCOTT
Co-Hosts, Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki & Digital Audio Entrepreneurs
Lucy Jackson and Nikki Westcott have built one of Queensland’s clearest podcast-to-brand success stories. Their podcast, Happy Hour with Lucy & Nikki, grew from their audience around Lucy & Nikki and fashion label Jagger & Stone into a broader commercial platform across audio, social media, fashion, events and radio. After joining LiSTNR, the pair expanded their relationship with SCA through national radio work on the Hit Network. Their inclusion reflects the growing influence of podcast talent that owns its audience directly, rather than relying only on a traditional station schedule.
3. BBQ BOB GALLAGHER
Breakfast Host, 4BH
BBQ Bob Gallagher has become one of Brisbane radio’s strongest AM performers through his breakfast role on Classic Hits 4BH. Gallagher was already well known to Brisbane listeners through his long association with 97.3FM before moving into a new chapter at 4BH. In Survey 3, 2026, 4BH placed second overall in the Brisbane market, while Gallagher’s breakfast show recorded an 11.1 per cent share. His place on the list is based on audience performance, longevity and the role he has played in giving 4BH a clearly defined position in the Brisbane radio market.
4. KARL STEFANOVIC
Co-Host, The Long Weekend (ARN GOLD Network)
Included because of his Queensland profile, national media recognition and recent move into audio. ARN signed Stefanovic and Eddie McGuire for The Long Weekend, a multi-platform program designed for radio, digital audio, video and social distribution. Stefanovic is best known as a television presenter, but his entry into ARN’s audio strategy gives him a direct role in a major national radio and podcasting player. His influence is not based on Brisbane breakfast radio, but on his ability to bring mainstream attention, national distribution and celebrity recognition to an audio product.
5. SUSIE O’NEILL
Co-Host, Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill (Nova 106.9 Breakfast)
Susie O’Neill’s influence comes from a public profile built well beyond radio. As an Olympic gold medallist and one of Queensland’s most recognised sporting figures, she brought an existing level of trust and affection to Nova 106.9. Her return to Nova breakfast for 2026, after previously stepping away from the show reinforced her value to the station and its listeners. O’Neill’s place on the list reflects her combination of sporting legacy, media experience, public affection and current breakfast-radio presence in one of Brisbane’s most competitive commercial markets.
6. DAVID ‘LUTTSY’ LUTTERAL
Co-Host, Nick, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill (Nova 106.9 Breakfast)
Luttsy has been connected to Nova 106.9 since the station’s early years and remains one of Brisbane’s longest-serving commercial breakfast figures. His influence comes from longevity, local relationships, sports knowledge and continued relevance within Nova’s breakfast line-up. Away from the daily show, Lutteral co-hosts Toward The Games: Brisbane 2032 with The Courier-Mail editor Chris Jones, placing him in the city’s Olympic conversation. That podcast work, combined with his Nova history, gives him a position across breakfast radio, sport, major events and Brisbane’s long-term 2032 narrative.
7. GREG ‘MARTO’ MARTIN
Co-Host, Marto, Margaux and Dan (Triple M Brisbane Breakfast)
One of Brisbane’s key commercial breakfast figures through Triple M’s Marto, Margaux and Dan. The show led Brisbane breakfast in Survey 2, 2026 with a 14.0 per cent share, then finished second in Survey 3 on 13.0 per cent, behind B105. Triple M remained Brisbane’s No. 1 station overall in Survey 3. Content Director, B105
A senior programming figure rather than an on-air personality, Kirkwood was appointed B105 Content Director in 2025 after holding content roles connected to major national drive shows. At B105, Kirkwood sits behind one of Brisbane’s major FM brands and works across the sound, structure and talent strategy of the station. B105’s Stav, Abby and Matt returned to No. 1 in Brisbane breakfast in Survey 3, 2026. Kirkwood’s place on the list reflects the importance of content directors in shaping the product listeners hear every day.

He spent decades with the ABC, including a long run on ABC Brisbane breakfast, and has remained active in broadcasting, training, writing and media research. He is also a judge for the Australian Audio Awards, giving him a continuing role in recognising and assessing the country’s best audio work. His ranking reflects experience, industry credibility, audience recognition and his ongoing contribution to the professional standards of Australian audio.
10. SCOTT MCDONALD
Content Director, ABC Brisbane
The content director at ABC Brisbane. He joined the station in 2023 as a social media producer, later acted in the content director role and was appointed permanently in 2025. ABC Brisbane is a significant public audio platform in Queensland, particularly around news, emergency coverage, civic discussion and local community issues. McDonald’s background across digital and broadcast content is relevant to the way radio stations now operate across live audio, podcasts, social platforms and on-demand listening. His influence is editorial, strategic and behind the scenes.
11. SOFIE FORMICA
Co-Host, 4BC Breakfast
Formica has enjoyed a long Queensland media career and recently moved to 4BC Breakfast. The station announced 4BC Breakfast with Dean and Sofie as part of a renewed local line-up, with the program airing weekdays from 5.30am to 9am. Her ranking reflects her current breakfast role, her established public profile and her part in one of Brisbane talk radio’s most closely watched line-up changes.
12. LORETTA RYAN
Co-Host, ABC Brisbane Breakfast
Loretta Ryan’s place on the list is based on longevity and cross-market radio experience. She has worked across Brisbane commercial and public radio, including 4BH, 4BC and ABC Radio Brisbane. Ryan currently co-hosts ABC Brisbane Breakfast with Craig Zonca, a program that provides local news, sport, weather, traffic and interviews each weekday morning. Her influence comes from decades of consistency in Brisbane radio and from holding a key breakfast position at the city’s public broadcaster. She represents a style of radio built on familiarity, local knowledge and long-term listener trust.
13. PETER PSALTIS
Broadcaster
Peter Psaltis has worked as a Nine commentator, hosted 4BC’s Wide World of Sports and contributed Queensland reports to the Continuous Call Team. His work places him across live radio, rugby league commentary, podcasting and Queensland sport coverage. In a state where rugby league is one of the strongest drivers of radio conversation, Psaltis has a clearly defined position. His ranking reflects his specialist authority, regular presence in NRL audio and connection to Queensland’s sporting audience.
14. SIOBHAIN RYAN
Station Manager, 4BC (Tapt Media)
Siobhain Ryan, née McDonnell, is a senior 4BC executive. Tapt Media appointed her Station Manager for 4BC in 2026, after she had previously been associated with the station’s content leadership. Her role is significant because 4BC is in a period of ownership, programming and positioning change, following Tapt Media’s acquisition of the station from Nine. Ryan’s influence is not on-air. It is connected to station management, local leadership and the broader effort to strengthen 4BC’s position in the Brisbane market.
15. CHRIS “BUZZ” BEZZINA
Station Manager, 4BC (Tapt Media)
“Buzz” has been part of Nova’s Brisbane programming structure through line-up changes and remains connected to the execution of one of the market’s major breakfast brands. His influence is operational and content-focused, supporting the daily sound, structure and delivery of Nova’s Brisbane product. His placement reflects the importance of programming and production figures inside commercial radio teams, even when their work is less visible to listeners.
16. MARGAUX PARKER
Co-Host, Marto, Margaux and Dan (Triple M Brisbane Breakfast)
Parker joined Triple M Brisbane’s breakfast show in 2019 and is now part of Marto, Margaux and Dan, one of the city’s highest-rating breakfast programs. The show led Survey 2 in 2026 and finished second in Survey 3, while Triple M remained the overall market leader. Parker’s ranking reflects her role in a major commercial breakfast show, her on-air contribution to the station’s current format and her place inside Brisbane’s strongest overall radio brand.
17. ABBY COLEMAN
Co-Host, Stav, Abby & Matt (B105 Breakfast)
A member of B105’s Stav, Abby and Matt, which returned to No. 1 in Brisbane breakfast in Survey 3, 2026. SCA had previously confirmed long-term agreements for the team, underlining the station’s commitment to the line-up. Coleman’s public profile also extends beyond breakfast radio through community and charity work, including links with Small Steps 4 Hannah, and her visible connection to the Brisbane Lions.
18. KIP WIGHTMAN
Co-Host, Robin, Kip and Corey (KIIS 97.3 Breakfast)
Kip Wightman is included because of his continued role in Brisbane breakfast radio and his involvement in one of the market’s biggest recent programming reversals. ARN initially announced a change to KIIS 97.3 breakfast for 2026, before confirming Robin, Kip and Corey would return after listener feedback. Wightman is also part of Broncos-related audio through podcast work with Corey Oates and Sam Thaiday.
19. MATT ACTON
Co-Host, Stav, Abby & Matt (B105 Breakfast) & Digital Creator
Acton holds a dual role as a B105 breakfast host and digital creator. As part of Stav, Abby and Matt, he is attached to the show that led Brisbane breakfast in Survey 3, 2026. Acton also has a large social audience, with talent profiles listing more than 715,000 combined followers across platforms, largely built through family and parenting content.
20. LISE CARLAW & SARAH WILLS
Co-Hosts, The Lise and Sarah Show & Independent Audio Entrepreneurs
The duo make the list for their independent podcast and audience-community work after radio. Their FORTY podcast and later Lise and Sarah platform built a direct audience around women in midlife, with extensions into books, live events and subscription content. Their influence is not tied to a current radio shift or survey result – it is based on building and maintaining a defined audience outside the traditional station structure.
21. CRAIG “LOWIE” LOW
Host, Lowie Live (KIIS Network Nights)
ARN sensationally announced Low as the incoming KIIS 97.3 Brisbane breakfast host before reversing that decision and reinstating Robin, Kip and Corey. Low remained with the network and moved into Lowie Live, a national nights program broadcast from Brisbane and airing across Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. His ranking reflects both his involvement in a major Brisbane programming story and the significance of a national ARN show being produced out of the Brisbane market.
22. ROBIN BAILEY
Co-Host, Robin, Kip and Corey (KIIS 97.3 Breakfast)
Bailey was the key figure in one of Brisbane radio’s most notable audience-led programming reversals. ARN announced in December 2025 that Robin, Kip and Corey would return in 2026 after feedback from Brisbane listeners, reversing its earlier plan to replace the show. Bailey has been a long-running Brisbane radio figure across multiple stations and formats. Her placement reflects audience loyalty, name recognition and her continued role in one of the city’s most discussed breakfast line-ups.
23. MARK HINE
Content Director, ARN Sunshine Coast (91.1 Hot FM and Zinc 96)
Hine was part of the long-running Laurel, Gary and Mark breakfast team, which built a significant audience over many years at 4KQ before later moving to 4BC. In 2026, Hine was appointed ARN Content Director for the Sunshine Coast, overseeing 91.1 Hot FM and Zinc 96, after previously working as Content Director for ARN’s Star 102.7 and 4CA in Cairns. His influence now sits across heritage, audience memory and current regional radio strategy.
24. BRONTE LANGBROEK
Co-Host, Bronte and Lakey for Breakfast (90.9 Sea FM Gold Coast)
Bronte Langbroek is included to recognise Queensland audio beyond Brisbane. A Gold Coast local, Langbroek co-hosts Bronte and Lakey for Breakfast on 90.9 Sea FM and has worked across SCA’s Queensland radio network. Her ranking reflects regional and coastal commercial radio’s importance in the state’s broader audio ecosystem. Presenters in those markets build strong audience relationships outside the metro ratings conversation, and Langbroek is one of the more visible current Queensland breakfast names in that space.
25. BEN “DOBBO” DOBBIN
Co-Host, The Rush Hour with Dobbo and Elliott & NRL Commentator (Triple M)
Ben “Dobbo” Dobbin rounds out the ranked list as a Queensland sport-radio figure. Triple M reinstated The Rush Hour with Dobbo and Elliott as a Brisbane-produced Queensland drive show in 2025 after earlier changes to the network’s drive programming. Dobbin’s role gives Triple M a local sport and NRL-focused program across Queensland, complementing the station’s broader sport-heavy identity. His inclusion is based on current audio work, rugby league relevance, recognisable personality and the continued importance of local sport programming in the Queensland radio market.
TRIBUTE: JAMIE DUNN
Jamie Dunn was a major figure in Queensland entertainment through his work as the voice and creator behind Agro, as well as his long radio career, including B105’s Morning Crew. His death in March 2026 prompted tributes across the media and entertainment industries. Dunn’s influence on Queensland radio, television and comedy sits outside a current power ranking, but his contribution to the state’s audio and entertainment history is immense.
