The Lab has appointed three new strategists to its Melbourne team, including Nassia Galanis, Darcey Bates, and Josh Osborn. The agency aims to enhance its strategic consulting capabilities as it enters a new financial year.
The Lab, Australia’s leading full-service insight and strategy agency, has expanded its strategic consulting capabilities with three new hires in its Melbourne team, as it continues to broaden the perspectives, expertise and strategic thinking it brings to clients.
Senior Quantitative Strategist Nassia Galanis and Strategists Darcey Bates and Josh Osborn bring local and international experience spanning quantitative research, brand strategy and data-led consulting. Meanwhile, Managing Director Rebecca Brody returns from parental leave to lead the next phase of growth for the business.
For more than 20 years, The Lab has helped organisations look beyond the obvious, combining insights and strategy to uncover new opportunities across retail, finance, government, FMCG, sport and entertainment. The expanded Melbourne team further strengthens the consultancy’s ability to help clients uncover new opportunities, challenge conventional thinking and turn insights into action.
Returning Melbourne Managing Director Rebecca Brody said: “Coming back to a team with this much energy, curiosity and talent is incredibly exciting. Nassia, Josh and Darcey each bring something different, whether it’s deep quantitative expertise, global consulting experience or a client-side perspective that helps challenge conventional thinking.
“At The Lab, we’ve always believed the best ideas come from seeing things differently. Clients aren’t looking for more information; they’re looking for fresh perspectives, clarity and direction. By bringing together research, strategy and consulting expertise under one roof, we’re building a team that can help organisations uncover opportunities they might otherwise miss and make decisions with greater confidence.”
Galanis joins with more than eight years’ experience in insights and consulting, including time at Fiftyfive5, where she worked across sectors including retail, FMCG, sport, entertainment and higher education. She specialises in translating complex data into practical, commercially grounded recommendations that help clients make better decisions.
Bates brings experience across insights and strategy, helping organisations turn data into actionable recommendations. Her background spans sport, healthcare, corporate and public affairs, including roles with West Ham United Football Club and agency work for clients including Amazon, Meta and AstraZeneca.
Osborn has more than five years’ experience across the UK, Singapore and Australia, having worked on brand positioning, innovation, category growth and shopper strategy projects for Fortune 500 FMCG and pharmaceutical clients. His background spans sales, marketing and insights functions, providing a broad commercial perspective.
The appointments mark the beginning of a new financial year for The Lab Melbourne, with the business focused on building on its strong foundations, expanding its strategic capabilities and supporting clients through increasingly complex business and brand challenges.
