Whether you snap pics like the pros or are more of a budding amateur looking for a fun day of levelling up in a supportive environment, get PhotoLive Expo 2026 in your diary!

Returning to Novotel Perth Langley on Sunday 26 July, the annual event – presented by Camera Electronic – has become an important date on WA’s creative calendar, and this year’s program is built around a day for everyone, not just for folks already obsessing over f-stops.

It’s an expo for anyone who’s ever wanted to get better at taking images, whatever “better” means to them – sharper family photos, more confident wildlife shots, an Instagram feed that finally looks the way it does in their head.

The day runs from 9am to 5pm (grab tickets here) and stretches beyond browsing into so much more, including:

presentations from some of Australia’s leading photographers and filmmakers;

hands-on workshops covering everything from lighting to Lightroom editing;

guided photowalks through the city.

Keen to just cruise and peruse the expo floor? There you’ll find the latest cameras, lenses and accessories from the world’s major imaging brands, with live demonstrations and the chance to actually talk to the people behind them – useful if you want an honest opinion before you spend the money.

Perth’s photography and content-creation crowd is bigger than it looks, scattered across group chats, Facebook communities and separate Instagram feeds that rarely intersect. PhotoLive is one of the few times a year that the scene actually gathers in person – beginners next to professionals, wildlife shooters next to wedding photographers, and friendly faces with decades of experience happy to answer questions from someone who bought their first camera last month.

Alongside it just being a fun and creative winter activity, 10 per cent of every PhotoLive Expo 2026 ticket sold goes to Telethon, supporting sick, vulnerable and disadvantaged children across WA.

Tickets – covering Expo Room entry, All-Day Speaker Sessions, individual workshops and guided photowalks – are available now at photoliveexpo.com.au.
