Proof Inc. is set to open a new studio in Brisbane, marking a return to Australia for the visualisation company.
The Los Angeles-based Proof has had a presence in Australia since 2005, working on productions such as Charlotte’s Web and I, Frankenstein in Melbourne, The Ruins on the Gold Coast and the The Vatican Tapes, Gods of Egypt, and The Age of Adaline in Sydney. The company formally incorporated Proof-Australia in Sydney in 2012, later registering in New Zealand in 2014. However, its Melbourne studio was shuttered during the pandemic, ending its engagement with the region until now.
The new Brisbane studio will be led by Karina Peers, whose background includes senior development and production experience at Animal Logic, with credits spanning Happy Feet and Legend of the Guardians.
“Australia has always been part of Proof’s story,” said Proof Inc. founder and CEO Ron Frankel.
“Some of our earliest international productions were based there, and we’ve worked with incredible artists and filmmakers there for close to 25 years. Reestablishing a permanent presence in the region allows us to better support local productions while continuing to grow our worldwide creative network.”
Founded in 2002, Proof’s work include pitchvis, previs, techvis, stuntvis, postvis, and virtual production, spanning film, television, streaming, gaming, and live entertainment. Its credits include Star Wars: Starfighter, the Harry Potter series and films, Michael, and multiple films from the Jurassic World, The Fast & The Furious, and Avatar franchise. Proof Australia joins studios in Los Angeles and London.
