Two men have been arrested following the death of a man who was found unresponsive near Fremantle’s nightlife precinct overnight.
Police say the man in his 60s was found on South Terrace, near Douglas Street, shortly after 2am.
The grisly discovery was made just a few hundred metres away from Fremantle’s renowned cafe and entertainment strip.
The bustling port city is located around 25 kilometres south-west of the Perth CBD.

The man was taken to Fiona Stanley Hospital, but he could not be saved.
Two men, both aged in their twenties, were arrested at the scene and are assisting police with their enquiries.
Police cordoned off South Terrace between Price Street and South Street as homicide detectives combed the area for clues.

The area where the man was found was strewn with rubbish, including blue latex gloves on Saturday morning.
Nearby residents told the ABC they did not hear anything out of the ordinary.
Any witnesses are asked to contact Crime Stoppers and reports can be made anonymously.
