In the wake of Kyle and Jackie O’s departure, KIIS FM has plummeted to a new low in Melbourne — falling behind ABC Melbourne in the latest radio ratings results.

With rotating hosts after the blow up of its $200m duo in February, KIIS FM has fallen to a 4.8 per cent market share in the crucial breakfast slot, down from a 5 per cent share in the previous survey.

KIIS is now attracting fewer breakfast listeners than the ABC’s struggling duo of Bob Murphy and Richelle Hunt — the latter filling in for Sharnelle Vella on maternity leave — who picked up from 4.9 to 5.3.

When Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were dumped in 2023 for the networked Kyle Sandilands and Jackie ‘O’ Henderson they were rating 9.1.

Since Kyle and Jackie O started here in April 2024 their highest ratings in Melbourne were 6.1.

Elsewhere in breakfast the ever consistent Christian O’Connell on GOLD FM dropped from 10 to 8.7.

He was surpassed by new leaders, Nova’s Jase, Lauren and Clint, who went up to 10.4 with FOX FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick close behind on 10.

SEN breakfast lifted again to 6.3 to draw level with Triple M’s Mick In the Morning.

Last survey was the sports station’s strongest-ever radio ratings result.

3AW’s breakfast juggernaut of Ross Stevenson and Russell Howcroft gained one per cent to claim a 20.1 share, while mornings host Tom Elliott rose by 1.1 to 16.3 per cent and afternoons and drive also gained listeners.

Raf Epstein in ABC Melbourne mornings went up 1.4 per cent, afternoons with Brigitte Duclos doubled its audience to 5 and Charlie Pickering in drive also went up by 2.5 per cent.

Nova’s Fitzy, Wippa and Kate were winners in drive, rising from 9.5 to 10.5.

GOLD FM retained its lead in afternoons despite a slight drop to record 13.7 — Eddie McGuire and Karl Stefanovic’s show started on June 12. Now without Karl, the next survey will tell a better story for solo host McGuire.

This survey 4 ratings period covered April 19 to June 27.
