Spice Magazine has unveiled its highly anticipated Hot 100 Hotels and Venues across Australia and New Zealand, highlighting the best in the business across a range of categories, from Best Boutique Hotel and Best Airport Hotel to Best Wellness Retreat and Best Venue for a Gala Dinner.

Among the standouts, the Stirling Hotel has earned its place as one of the country’s best regional hotels, putting the Adelaide Hills favourite in the national spotlight. The 110-year-old landmark is known for its premium accommodation, dining, and gin bar in the Adelaide Hills, and for the team, the recognition is incredibly exciting.

“This recognition is a huge compliment to us at the Stirling,” shared Harry Brasher, Group Marketing & Digital Strategy Manager at Piermount, the team behind the Stirling.

“We strive to provide the most authentic experience to our guests and are thrilled with this achievement. It is a testament to the hard work of our team, who put in endless work to make sure that our guests have the best experience possible.”

Harry says the hotel’s appeal isn’t just about what’s on offer, but also where it’s located.

“I believe the location and aesthetics of the hotel are two big draw cards for us,” Harry says. “Stirling is a beautiful village in the Adelaide Hills that is loved dearly by the locals and visitors alike. Our venue ticks a lot of boxes for lots of demographics, and I think that’s a win!”

The Stirling Hotel is positioned as a gateway to the wider Adelaide Hills wine region, almost becoming a hub for day-trippers and weekenders looking to discover the best of the region. Whether it’s kicking back by the fire during winter or enjoying a cocktail on the deck in the warmer months, the venue delivers a year-round experience.

That adaptability has been key to its evolution. Harry describes the hotel as “ever evolving,” with a team that’s constantly refining the offering and staying ahead of industry trends.

“We are always looking for ways to improve the way we do things and make sure that our guests have something to look forward to every time they visit.”

Seasonality also plays a huge role in shaping the experience.

“The Adelaide Hills provides a perfect backdrop to our beautiful venue. We are fortunate enough up here to really experience all four seasons, which is really lovely for the customer experience. The autumn leaves outside sprinkle our tables, and our open fires create a warm and inviting atmosphere during winter. During summer, it’s a great escape from the heat of the city, and we have a beautiful deck that is perfect for dining al fresco. Being able to utilise local produce and wines is also a great part of what makes our venue so special.”

Looking ahead, the team isn’t slowing down. A calendar of curated wine dinners, created in collaboration with South Australian wineries, continues to draw crowds, with more events and experiences regularly added to the lineup.

With national recognition now under its belt and a clear focus on continuous evolution, the Stirling Hotel is proving it’s not just a Hills favourite, but one of Australia’s standout regional destinations.
