Virgin has announced ticket sales to 34 destinations including flights from Sydney to the Gold Coast for $65 one way, or Sydney to Byron Bay for $49.
The snap sale includes discount fares to Bali, Fiji and Vanuatu and Queenstown, New Zealand, said Virgin executive Libby Minogue.
She announced other bargain buys including Melbourne to Sydney ($105), Melbourne to Canberra ($125), Brisbane to Sydney ($105) and Brisbane to Mackay ($105).
Ms Minogue said travellers could book flights and some holiday packages for selected travel dates between August 25 this year June 22, 2027.
There are about one million sale fares on offer.

She said Virgin Australia “Holidays by Hopper” has also dropped a sale on flight and accommodation packages to top destinations like Cairns and Bali from $390 per person (based on two travellers, return Economy Lite fares from Brisbane, with two nights’ accommodation).
Hopper is an online travel agency and tech company that operates as a consumer booking app.
“Upgrades to Economy X premium extra legroom seating is on offer from just $12 per person, per sector, giving travellers the chance to stretch out and relax for less,” Ms Minogue said.
“To help Aussies make their holiday budgets go further, Virgin Australia Holidays powered by Hopper is also offering discounted return flight and accommodation packages to destinations including Cairns from $390 per person (based on two travellers, from Brisbane return on Economy Lite fares, with two nights’ accommodation) and Bali from $655 per person (based on two travellers, from Melbourne return on Economy Lite fares, with two nights’ accommodation).

Ms Minogue said many Australians were looking for a break.
