Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez Bezos, were spotted enjoying the sights of Sydney over the weekend.
After flying into the Harbour City on board his $US80 million ($AU115 million) private jet on Friday, the billionaire Amazon founder and his new wife – a former news anchor – didn’t waste any time visiting all the famed tourist sites.
In the hours after their arrival – reportedly from Fiji where they spent three days – Bezos, 62, and Sanchez, 56, were seen dining at upscale eatery Mimi’s in the beachside suburb of Coogee.
In grainy photos published in the Sydney Morning Herald, the couple was seen enjoying lunch with a woman in a pink blouse as they sat among other patrons at the posh restaurant.
Later that evening, the masthead reports Bezos then dropped by the Park Hyatt hotel where he was seen ordering a negroni.
Leisurely lunches continued on Saturday with the couple hitting up the equally swanky Icebergs restaurant that sits atop famed Bondi Beach.
The pair were joined by Hollywood film producer Brian Grazer – who’s behind hit movies Apollo 13, A Beautiful Mind and Splash – and his wife, Veronica, as well as Carl Kawaja, the portfolio manager at investment company Capital Group.
The group could be seen chatting and in good spirits as they were photographed exiting the restaurant, with Sanchez and Veronica looking very Hollywood in their designer shades and ensembles.
Come Sunday, the women ditched the designerwear to tackle the Sydney Harbour Bridge Climb.
Rocking the mandatory blue-and-grey overalls, they were joined by husbands Bezos and Grazer as they embarked on the estimated two-hour adventure.
Although Bezoses’ visit to Australia is unknown, the trip caps off a month-long holiday for the pair whose two Gulfstream jets shuttled the lovebirds between Fiji, Hawaii, Seattle, Oakland and Idaho over the past two weeks.
The trip appears to coincide with the couple’s first wedding anniversary on June 27.
“Home is wherever I’m with you️ 6.27.25️,” Sanchez wrote on Instagram to mark the big occasion, sharing a photo of a sunset appeared to have been taken during their travels.
One year ago, they were married in an over-the-top, three-day event in Venice, Italy, where they exchanged vows on the San Giorgio Maggiore island in front of a star-studded guest list featuring several Trumps, a couple Kardashians, a few Jenners, Oprah Winfrey, Leonardo DiCaprio, Bill Gates, Barbra Streisand and Orlando Bloom.
The ceremony was followed by an extravagant reception that spared no expense. The entire affair reportedly set the newlyweds back at least $US20million ($AU28 million).
Chump change, really, for Bezos who is the fourth richest person in the world with a reported fortune estimated to be US$260 billion ($AU372 billion).
