Firefighters are have battled a serious house fire in Brisbane’s north.

Emergency services were called to a property on Robinson Road West in Aspley about 2.50pm to fine it fully engulfed in flames.

A Queensland Fire Department spokesman said seven crews attended and took about 30 minutes to get the fire under control.

It is uncertain at this stage whether there was any one inside when the fire broke out.

Queensland Fire Department incident controller Simon Hill said they responded to a structure fire at the rear deck of the property.

“We managed to extinguish the fire, but the building has been considerably damaged,” he said.

He said no one was inside the building.

Police detectives were also seen on the scene investigating.

Robinson Road West was closed for hours.

A local resident who wished to stay anonymous said the smoke was ridiculous.

“It was definitely a major fire,” the resident said.

Coronis Aspley director Nicholas Loftus said he just returned to his office when he learnt that the house next door was on fire.

“It was very clearly on fire. There was smoke everywhere,” he said.

Mr Loftus said the community stepped in to help put out the fire.

“I was on the phone to triple-0, and then there was a fella named Matt,” he said.

“He was a lovely guy and he was getting a hose, and the lady next door was also getting a hose.”

Fire investigators will attend the Aspley property to probe the cause of the blaze on Tuesday morning.
