A man has been arrested for allegedly shooting and killing a man with known ties to drill rap group OneFour during a shocking home invasion in May.

Police arrested the man, 23, at Sydney International Airport at 6.30pm on Saturday, following a weeks-long investigation into an allegedly targeted shooting at a home in Canley Heights on May 19.

The accused hung his head as he was escorted out of the airport and into a police car.

It is understood two men broke into the home on the evening of May 19 and began shooting at a group of five men who were inside at the time.

During the chaos, 28-year-old Alai Ahio and a number of other men were shot at about 8:20pm.

Mr Ahio and a 32-year-old man presented at Liverpool Hospital with “multiple wounds,” and while the 32-year-old was able to survive an injury to his neck, Mr Ahio eventually succumbed to his wounds, dying a short time after reaching hospital.

Two other men, aged 23 and 22, arrived at Fairfield Hospital a short time later, also presenting with gunshot wounds, and both were treated.

One of the men had been shot in the neck.

A third man, 19, arrived at Liverpool Hospital at 9:50pm with a shoulder injury.

NSW Police Detective Superintendent Craig Middleton called the incident “a very brazen, violent attack” in the days following the shooting.

While police were not called to the property, they were alerted to the incident once Alai Ahio and the 32-year-old man arrived at the hospital.

After months of investigation, the 23-year-old was charged with murder and two counts of possessing an unauthorised pistol.

Strike Force detectives also executed a search warrant at a home in Moorebank on Saturday and seized about 10g of cocaine and electronic devices.

The 23-year-old was refused bail and will return to Parramatta Local Court in September.

Police have confirmed Strike Force Valko is continuing to investigate the fatal shooting.
