A glamorous socialite has come forward to say she was dating Lachie Neale before the former Brisbane Lions captain went public with a new woman last week.
The footballer made plenty of noise this week when he was spotted at Brisbane Airport with advertising professional Emma Field after his team arrived back home following a loss to Carlton in Melbourne.
The Herald Sun has now revealed Neale was recently courting Melbourne woman Mim Hoyle.
It is alleged Hoyle and Neale were dating.
According to the report, friends close to Hoyle have viewed and shared text messages Neale is reported to have sent her.
“Best way to put it is that I can tell already that I don’t want to catch up with you just once or twice and I don’t want you to think that’s what I would be like with you,” Neale is reported to have written.
The report landed on Friday night, while Neale was spotted with Field on a brunch date at a cafe on Saturday.
Jules Neale, the two-time Brownlow Medal winner’s former partner, meanwhile, shared a cryptic clip on her Instagram stories on Saturday night.
The popular hairstylist and mum of two children shared a video posted on Instagram by a friend which showed a piece of paper being burned.
The video was captioned “Lionsgate 8.8.8”.
It comes just days after a bizarre comment was made about Neale’s direct messaging activity. Reports about the blossoming romance between the footballer and Field have captivated social media users and one report became the subject of an eye-catching claim shared on Instagram.
Australian PGA Tour golfer Jack Wright, responded to one report by commenting: “Only a week or 2 ago he was trying to slide into my sister’s DMs again after being denied the first time”.
The Queensland-based golfer has since made his Instagram page private. According to The Daily Mail, Wright has two sisters.
Neale’s manager, Tom Petroro of the TGI Sport mega agency, could not be contacted for comment.
Meanwhile, Tess Crosley, the woman alleged to have had an affair with Neale last year, returned to public eye this week.
The Courier-Mail first reported Crosley made her first major event appearance since the storm of her affair with Neale erupted in December when she posed for cameras at the opening night of The Book of Mormon musical in Brisbane.
According to the report, Crosley attended the event with a female friend. She shared several photos of her outing on Instagram.
Neale’s reported new flame Field has also made eye-opening posts on Instagram with photos showing she attended the Lions’ win against Port Adelaide at the Gabba on July 26.
She was also in Perth when the Lions played West Coast at Optus Stadium on July 18.
The footballer’s romantic life has — for once — been overshadowed by his occupation and speculation continues to rage about a possible departure from the Lions.
Neale was reportedly shown around Collingwood’s state-of-the-art training facility last week in a major hint that his future lies away from Brisbane.
Neale is an unrestricted free agent and is yet to publicly announce where he’ll be playing in 2026.
Collingwood has emerged as the frontrunner for the dual Brownlow medallist, with the Pies reportedly tabling Neale a three-year, $3million contract.
Neale has family in WA, SA and Victoria and that is understood to be driving him away from the Lions amid a difficult time in his personal life.
His marriage with Jules broke down in December last year, and she is now living in Perth with their two young children, Piper and Freddie.
Lions coach Chris Fagan made the shock admission this week that Neale had toured the Magpies’ facilities without giving him or the club any prior notice.
The premiership-winning coach said he would have preferred it if Neale had arranged to take the tour after the team’s loss to Carlton.
