A powerful storm has brought chaos to Adelaide’s northern suburbs on Monday morning, with floodwaters forcing the closure of a crucial intersection and leaving multiple vehicles stranded.
The main turn-off at Port Wakefield Rd and Salisbury Hwy has been shut down after floodwaters spilled from nearby wetlands onto the road, creating a nightmare for commuters heading from the northern suburbs towards the city.

Multiple cars have been caught up in the floodwaters and remain stranded at the scene.
Despite police presence, several drivers have ignoring warnings and attempted to drive through the flooded intersection
A crash has also occurred as motorists struggle to navigate the tangled mess of cars attempting U-turns to avoid the floodwaters.
The Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) issued several severe weather warnings for South Australia, including a warning for damaging winds in the Eyre Peninsula, Yorke Peninsula and Flinders Ranges.

A severe thunderstorm warning was also issued for the state for heavy rainfall in parts of the Adelaide metropolitan area, Mount Lofty Ranges and Mid North districts on Sunday.
BOM said a strong cold front had tapped into a deep layer of tropical moisture, bringing damaging winds, heavy rain and thunderstorms to several states.
The line of showers and thunderstorms resulted in areas of heavy rainfall extending from Clare to northern Adelaide suburbs during Sunday afternoon.
The worst of the system was expected to move into the Tasman Sea later on Monday, taking much of the heavy rain and damaging winds with it.
The overnight deluge dumped 100mm of rain in the Adelaide Hills and 50mm in the city, with the SES receiving 530 calls for assistance.
Minor to moderate flood warnings remain active for the Onkaparinga River and the Bremer River.
As the rain eases, authorities warn a major clean-up operation lies ahead.
