Peel continue their win streak, taking out their twelfth in a row on Saturday over Perth in a wet weather low-scoring affair.

The Demons trailed by two points at quarter time but an accurate 5.0 second half saw the Thunder pull away in a game where goals were worth their weight in gold.

Lachie Tardrew had a blinder with 36 touches and three goals – Jeremy Sharp was able to have impact with 23 and seven entries.

Sean Darcy put on a show in the ruck with 56 hit outs, also hitting the scoreboard with a goal.

Aaron Clarke was held goalless for a second game in a row while Joshua Edwards’ presence was missed in the ruck – Perth now risk dropping out of finals contention as four teams stand tied on 36 points.

Swan Districts 3.11 (29) def by. Claremont 7.9 (51)

Claremont stretch now sit in second by two games after a 22-point victory over Swan Districts on the road.

The Swans started strong going into the second half with an 11-point lead, but a 6.4 to 1.4 second half saw the Tigers come back and take a gutsy win.

Benji Van Rooyen helped Oliver Eastland in the ruck in his league debut after an impressive stint at the National Championships – he had 12 hit outs while Eastland had 23 and two goals.

Zac Mainwaring and Talon Delacey both had 23 touches and kicked a goal each out the middle – they combined for nine or Claremont’s 53 inside 50 entries.

Alec Waterman led the goal scoring for the day with three.

Subiaco 8.8 (56) def by. West Coast 10.13 (73)

West Coast sit just outside the top five, tied on 36 points after a comeback win over Subiaco.

The Eagles make that three straight wins in a late season charge for finals – they kicked 7.5 in the second half to 2.2 to snub the victory from the Lions.

Matt Flynn and Harry Barnett dominated the ruck contest with 43 and 21 hit outs respectively, also hitting the scoreboard with two and one goals apiece.

Finlay Macrae had the most of the footy with 30 touches, combining with Harry Schoenberg for 17 of West Coast’s 64 inside 50s – Subiaco’s 57.14% score conversion rate per inside 50 to 35.94% was what largely kept them in the match.

The Lions now need everything to go right if they want to make finals – they take on Claremont and East Perth in the remaining two rounds.

South Fremantle 4.8 (32) def by. East Perth 7.10 (52)

East Perth jump into fourth as they string two wins together – they took down South Fremantle by 20 points.

The Royals maintained control throughout the day, going plus 12 in hit outs and plus nine in inside 50 entries.

Jake Florenca was best on ground despite the loss with 28 touches, seven tackles and seven entries.

Cassidy William had 20 touches and a goal for the Royals while Ben Middleton and André Gulluni were the only multiple goal kickers for East Perth with two apiece.

The Dogs drop to fifth as a second straight loss proves costly at the business end of the season.

West Perth 14.12 (96) def. East Fremantle 7.9 (51)

West Perth notched up their second win of the season, avenging a 26-point loss to the Sharks in round 10 and taking yesterday’s match out by a convincing 45 points.

East Fremantle started strong with 3.0 but the Falcons piled on 8.8 after the main break to stretch out the margin.

It was an even contest around the ground with West Perth taking a plus two advantage in hit outs and an even inside 50 count – a 52% score conversion rate to 32% from the Sharks proved the difference.

Tyler Keitel had a field day with 31 touches, seven marks, five tackles, 12 hit outs, four inside 50 entries and six goals – he now leads the Bernie Naylor Medal count with 49 goals for the year, chasing his fourth straight.

Shane Nelson had the most of the pill with 34 disposals, three marks, two tackles and six inside 50 entries.
