The team behind some of Adelaide’s best small bars has announced plans to open a new venue at an iconic city location.

The Cantina Group will launch No.6 East – a first-floor terrace bar on East Terrace overlooking Rundle Park – early next month.

Designed to feel like “someone else’s home”, the enclosed balcony bar will feature a private terrace with plants, eclectic art on the walls, and unique objects with a story behind them.

The Cantina Group owns a string of top Adelaide nightspots including Peel St bars Jennie, Malt & Juniper and Alfred’s.

Lachy Harrison, co-owner and venue manager, said No.6 East will be like going for a drink at a friend’s home.

“My favourite place to drink has always been someone else’s house. So, when we started putting the concept together for No.6, and saw the character in this old 1920s building, it was a bit of a no-brainer,” he said.

“No.6 is a venue that welcomes you home. Whether you’re out on the drinking terrace, around the dinner table or standing at the bar, you’ll always feel welcome at my place.”

No.6 East will be open from Wednesday to Saturday, with extended hours through the Adelaide Fringe and during summer. It will also be available for private hire.
