Two New South Wales teenagers have been charged after allegedly stealing multiple vehicles from homes, wielding machetes and driving cars at police, all in the space of a few hours.

The two boys, aged 14 and 15, are a part of a larger group of three accused of forcing entry into multiple homes, armed with machetes, to steal keys for vehicles.

New England Police District officers were called to a home in Moree on Saturday morning, where the residents said a group of unknown people forced entry into the house sometime between 8pm on Friday and the early hours of the morning.

It is alleged that the group stole keys to a sedan and then drove off with it.

They allegedly stopped at a servo, where they filled up the tank and drove away without paying, on the way to the next house.

At around 5:20am, police say the boys drove to Warialda and entered a second property, with two of the group armed with machetes.

The group allegedly threatened an occupant and stole keys to a station wagon outside, before also driving off in the vehicle.

Police located the two vehicles and initiated a pursuit, which was ultimately ended by police over safety concerns.

They allege both the drivers drove at police vehicles during the pursuit.

On Saturday afternoon, police arrested and charged a 15-year-old over the incident.

He was charged with eight offences, including breach of bail, aggravated break and entering, and driving recklessly.

He was refused bail and appeared before a children’s court on Sunday.

The teen was further refused bail and ordered to reappear at a children’s court on August 20.

On Monday, a 14-year-old was also arrested and charged with six offences, including aggravated breaking and entering while armed.

The 14-year-old appeared before a children’s court on Monday, where he was refused bail to reappear before court on August 24.

Police found both of the allegedly stolen vehicles, with the sedan found at a Moree address and the wagon found in bushland.
