Police have laid murder charges after a man was allegedly stabbed before he then died at a property south of Brisbane.
Police had responded to reports of an altercation between three people who were known to each other on Lubach Street, Beenleigh, at around 4.45pm on Tuesday.
“It will be alleged that during the altercation, a 66-year-old man sustained stab wounds,” a Queensland Police statement said.
A 43-year-old Beenleigh woman, who The Courier Mail has identified as Jillian Greer Francis, allegedly stabbed the 66-year-old.
She has been charged with murder, acts intended to maim/disfigure/disable and contravention of domestic violence order (aggravated offence).
Police earlier said a woman had been under police guard in hospital and was “expected to assist police further” with investigations.
A 47-year-old Karalee man, identified as Lindsay James Kohn, has also been charged with one count of murder.
The pair are expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
It comes after officers arrived at the residence on Tuesday before the elderly man was given CPR.
However, he died at the scene a short time later, police said.
A crime scene was set up and a man and woman were taken into custody.
Inquiries into the man’s death are ongoing.
According to The Courier Mail, police believe the incident was in relation to an alleged tenancy dispute.
