Residents are being encouraged to live more sustainably with the installation of the City of Stirling’s first ever zero-waste refill station at Stirling Leisure in Inglewood.
The self-service refill station allows customers to fill their own clean, reusable containers from 500ml to 3L with essential household liquids.
Products available include hand and body wash, shampoo and conditioner, all-purpose spray, laundry liquid and softener, and dish-washing liquid.
Delivered in partnership with Skipping Stones Refillery, the fully automated vending machine is controlled by a user friendly 32” touchscreen monitor.
All products from the machine are made in Perth using eco-conscious ingredients, reducing harsh chemicals and waterways while also reducing carbon miles, supporting the local economy and eliminating single-use packaging waste.
Located to the left of the reception desk at the main aquatic entrance of Stirling Leisure – Inglewood, the refill station is available to the entire community during the centre’s opening hours.
Skipping Stones Refillery owner Mia Pitassi, also a City of Stirling resident, will be running a free workshop on low-waste living and the refill station at Stirling Leisure – Inglewood on Wednesday August 19 from 6.00pm to 7.00pm.
The No Excuses for Single-Uses workshop will cover waste data and impact from single-use packaging, myths, risks and challenges of going zero-waste, mapping zero-waste opportunities in Perth and tips and tricks to conquer waste.
Participants who attend this workshop and show $50 of refill receipts from 16 June 2026 may apply for a $50 refill reward to keep up the good work, supported by the WA Government and the Waste Authority.
