A man has been charged after he allegedly tried to evade officers and hit a police vehicle in an inner-city Brisbane suburb.
Fortitude Valley Tactical Crime Squad officers were patrolling at 5pm on Thursday when they saw a dark grey Volkswagen Golf driving north on Petrie Terrace.
Police tried to intercept the Volkswagen on Pratten Street, where the car allegedly crashed into a police vehicle and retaining wall as it attempted to flee.
The driver was removed from the car by police and taken into custody.
No injuries to officers or members of the public were reported.
Police will also allege that officers found dangerous drugs, weapons and property suspected to be linked to further drug offences during a search of the Volkswagen.
A 52-year-old man has been charged with eight alleged offences, including evasion offence previous convictions, endangering a police officer while driving a motor vehicle and possessing dangerous drugs.
He also faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, unlawful possession of weapons, possessing property suspected of having been used in connection with the commission of a drug offence and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence and possessing a dangerous drug.
The man is expected to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Thursday.
