An elderly South Australian couple missing in north-west Tasmania have been found cold and wet with minor injuries in the Dial Range area, police say.
Clementina, 81, and her partner Peter, 79, were visiting family in Tasmania and had embarked on an afternoon of sightseeing in the region on Tuesday.

They were last seen at 2:30pm that day in Milabena, about 44 kilometres west of Burnie.
At a press conference in Burnie, police said the couple had been sightseeing, and their car had entered an unsealed road and got stuck.

Inspector Anthea Maingay said the pair then left a note on the vehicle and had gone walking down the road in an “attempt” to find assistance, later returning to their car where they spent two nights.

Inspector Maingay said phone data had assisted searchers to narrow the search area.
The couple were found near their car about 10:30am on Thursday, with police taking them to hospital as a precaution.

Inspector Maingay said the couple thanked Tasmania Police and their family in Tasmania for their assistance and wanted to pass on that “they appreciated the outpouring of love and support from the community”.
The couple’s family were grateful and relieved and “won’t be allowing them to go on any unaccompanied journeys for some time”, Inspector Maingay said.
