The Adelaide Footy League Women’s competition has been packed with major local talent for a number of years and 2026 has been no exception.
Based on this season’s form and with the help of league insiders, we’ve analysed a number of divisions to rank the top 40 players in the competition for season 2026.
Here are our rankings from 40 to 1.
40. SUSAN MOUNTSTEPHEN
(West Croydon)
A star forward for West Croydon, Mountstephen leads all women’s competitions for goals kicked.
Mountstephen is a strong and skilled player who leads well, creates space in possession and finishes efficiently.
Has 59 goals so far.
39. AKEIRA WHICHELLO
(Eastern Park)
A former star in the Barossa Light and Gawler FA, Whichello has been impressive for Eastern Park this year.
The Demons gun is a hard worker around the ground who lays big tackles, wins contested footy and disposes well.
38. NATASHA HOLMES
(Pulteney)
The division four medallist this season, Holmes has put together a big year.
A tough and athletic player, Holmes wins plenty of the footy in the contest and does damage by hand and foot.
Has 13 best player nods in 14 games.
37. EMILY VIVIAN
(Mitcham)
One of Mitcham’s most reliable players this year.
A strong player on the ball who finds teammates with ease and applies tackle pressure.
Has six best player nods in 10 games.
36. JESS PATCHING
(Edwardstown)
A dual league medallist, Patching remains a weapon for Edwardstown.
The club captain leads from the front with her ability to apply strong pressure in the contest, win the footy and find teammates.
35. ABBIE PLAYER
(Broadview)
A reliable player in the contest and up front, Player has been one of Broadview’s best this year.
Has a nose for goal and is one of her side’s cleanest players by hand and foot.
Has 21 goals and three best player performances.
34. NICOLE HOOPER
(Brighton Bombers)
Former West Adelaide SANFLW player Hooper has been strong for the Bombers this year.
Playing in the contest and up front, Hooper makes good decisions and has no issue hitting the scoreboard.
Has 25 goals and five best player nods in 15 games.
33. GEORGIA EMES
(Goodwood Saints)
A rising young gun for Sturt and Goodwood Saints, Emes has been important this year.
Emes can play off half-back or through the midfield with her ability to read the game and do damage by foot.
Has 10 best player nods in 13 games.
32. ABBEY SCHEER
(Angle Vale)
Scheer has been one of Angle Vale’s best this season.
A versatile player who can do damage up front or through the midfield, Scheer is one of her team’s craftiest stars.
Has eight best player performances through 17 games.
31. SASKIA REYNOLDS
(Mitcham)
Former Sturt SANFLW player Reynolds has been at her best for Mitcham in division three this season.
A small defender who can also dominate through the middle as a tough and courageous player with good skills.
Has 12 best player nods in 17 games.
30. BRIDIE LUKICH
(Angle Vale)
Lukich has had a big year in the AdFL.
The rising star teenager provides damaging run through the middle and is precise with her disposal.
Has three best player performances in 10 games.
29. CHLOE HARDING
(Morphettville Park)
Former Glenelg player Harding has had another standout year in the Adelaide Footy League.
A hard worker who never drops her intensity through four quarters and wins important possessions for her side.
Has six best player nods in 13 games.
28. ALICE WINTER
(Old Ignatians)
Winter has starred for Old Ignatians yet again this year.
A versatile midfielder who damages opposition with her speed and defensive pressure, Winter is one of the best users of the football in her division.
Has 11 best player nods in 12 games.
27. ANJA BANCEVIC
(Brighton Bombers)
Also a part of North Adelaide’s SANFLW program, Bancevic has been dominant for the Bombers.
A standout on and behind the footy who can take big marks, win the footy and distribute efficiently.
Seven best player nods in 12 games.
26. TIMEKA COX
(Broadview)
A promising player who has been important for Broadview this season.
Cox is a versatile asset who can fill a number of roles with her aerial ability and reliable distribution around the ground.
25. ISABEL SPOONER
(Lockleys)
This season’s division three medallist, Spooner has had a big season for the Demons.
A workhorse around the ground who wins the ball inside and is a reliable distributor.
Has six best player nods and 13 goals in 14 games.
24. ASHA GOOLEY
(Henley)
One of Henley’s best this division one season.
A rising young gun for the Sharks and WWTFC’s U18s side, Gooley is a hard runner who covers ground well, finds a tonne of footy and delivers efficiently.
Four best player nods in 12 games.
23. BRITTANY PERRY
(Angle Vale)
A star midfielder who can also play a role up front, former division two medallist Brittany Perry has been dominant for Angle Vale in D1.
Wins her fair share of the footy in the contest and has the ability to find teammates efficiently by hand or foot while under pressure.
Has eight best player nods in 12 games.
22. LAUREN BUNGEY
(Happy Valley)
An integral part of Happy Valley’s side.
Bungey is an athletic and hardworking player around the ground who brings a presence in the air and is a good decision maker.
Has nine best player nods in 13 games.
21. TAYLOR HAND
(Payneham Norwood Union)
Former Norwood and Adelaide Uni player Taylor Hand has been dominant since joining the Falcons.
A versatile player with great skills and a high footy IQ, Hand is one of her side’s most reliable.
Has nine best player nods so far.
20. NICOLETTE DUNN
(Morphettville Park)
One of Morphettville Park’s best for a number of seasons, Dunn has been strong again in 2026.
A highly skilled player in the contest who finds plenty of the footy and is efficient by hand and foot.
19. COURTNEY GUTSCHMIDT
(Happy Valley)
One of Happy Valley’s major standouts this season.
Formerly a star player with Willunga in the GSFL, Gutschmidt can dominate inside with her ability to win the footy and distribute quickly.
18. TEAGAN DUNBAR
(Henley)
The top goalkicker in division one again this season, Dunbar remains a weapon up front.
A smart player up front who executes leads well, takes strong marks and either boots important goals or creates opportunities for her teammates.
Has 36 majors and five best player performances in 15 games.
17. BRIANNA ARTHUR
(Broadview)
Returning to Broadview last year after time with North Adelaide’s SANFLW side, Arthur has had another big season with the Tigers.
A star midfielder who wins the footy in the contest and damages opposition with her creative disposal.
Has eight best player nods in 15 games.
16. JORJA HOOPER
(Happy Valley)
A former gun for South Adelaide in the SANFLW, Hooper has been a standout in div one.
Hooper is a versatile player who is strong on the ball, tackles hard and distributes efficiently.
Has five best player nods through 12 games.
15. SASKIA KELLAWAY
(Glenunga)
One of Sturt’s most promising youngsters, Kellaway has also been important for the Rams this year.
A highly skilled player who can play in a number of roles and has been a standout through the middle, Kellaway’s ability to weave through the contest and deliver makes her a weapon.
Has six best player nods in 10 games.
14. SHAKIRA JARVIS
(Tea Tree Gully)
An explosive player out of the middle who is a consistent gun for TTG.
Jarvis can take over a game with her ability to win the footy, provide important run and carry and damage by foot.
Has six best player performances in 14 games.
13. AMELIA PERTINI
(Payneham Norwood Union)
Part of Norwood’s inaugural U18 girls team, Pertini has emerged as a promising young star for PNU in the Adelaide Footy League.
A versatile player who reads the game well and can cut opposition up with her distribution.
Has eight best player nods in 11 games.
12. MIA SMITH
(Henley)
Also a young gun for the Eagles in the SANFLW, Smith has been an important player for Henley when available.
A great runner through the middle and around the ground who does damage by hand and foot.
Has seven best player nods in nine games.
11. GRACE WHITTAKER
(Hectorville)
A force for Hectorville in division two.
Whittaker has been a consistently dangerous player around the ground who competes well in the air and consistently boots goals.
26 majors and seven best player mentions in 11 games.
10. BROOKLYN MCIVER
(Angle Vale)
A consistent star for Angle Vale through this season.
McIver boasts great hand and foot skills and has the ability to hit the scoreboard consistently while also creating for her teammates.
Has seven best player nods and 11 goals in nine games.
9. CAITLEN TEAGUE
(Angle Vale)
A former club best and fairest who has been at her best this year, Angle Vale star Caitlen Teague continues to lead by example.
A tough player in the contest who wins plenty of the ball and distributes efficiently.
Has eight best player nods in nine games.
8. AMIE BLANDEN
(Payneham Norwood Union)
A force for PNU this season, Woodville-West Torrens player Blanden has been dominant in 2026.
Dominates in the air as a standout utility, creating for her teammates in the middle and also possessing the ability to hit the scoreboard.
Has eight goals and six best player nods in 13 games.
7. SINEAD SAUNDERS
(Port District)
This year’s division two medallist, Saunders has been a standout for Port District.
The West Adelaide player is hard at it in the middle, winning plenty of the footy consistently and disposing well.
Has 10 best player nods in 13 games.
6. SASHA BRANSON
(Broadview)
An up and coming young star with SANFLW experience, Branson has been a force for Broadview when available for the Tigers.
A tall, agile and athletic player with great skills who makes good decisions under pressure.
Has four best player nods in seven games.
5. CELESTINA DONA
(Morphettville Park)
Former D1 medallist Celestina Dona was not as available for the Roos this season as previous seasons but was undoubtedly among the division’s best when playing.
A versatile gun who can play any role her side needs, Dona wins plenty of the footy and is a reliable distributor.
Eight best player nods in eight games.
4. SUMMER NELSON
(Tea Tree Gully)
One of division two’s top performers this season, Nelson has had a strong year with the Gullies.
Nelson is a smooth mover who finds plenty of the footy and disposes efficiently.
Has six best player performances this season.
3. LAYLA ROGERS
(Happy Valley)
Joining Happy Valley this year and finishing joint runner-up in the medal count with Henley’s Eliza Cooper, Rogers has been a consistent weapon for her club.
Fights hard in the contest, creates space in possession and delivers efficiently.
Has nine best player nods in 13 games.
2. ELIZA COOPER
(Henley)
A superstar for Henley yet again this season, Cooper has been a major standout in D1.
A ball magnet in the contest who covers ground well, distributes efficiently and creates goalkicking chances for her teammates.
Has six best player performances this season.
1. AMY JONES
(Broadview)
Taking out this year’s Hannah Dutschke Medal as the top player in division one, Jones has been a force around the contest for the Tigers.
A workhorse around the ground who wins plenty of the footy inside, applies strong pressure and distributes as well as anyone.
Has 13 best player nods in 16 games.
