Former First Dates Australia contestant Tyler Blue-Allan has reignited intense online debate after sharing his strict relationship rules during an interview on Kyle Sandilands Live.
The 23-year-old model — who previously sparked widespread fury on Channel 7’s dating show for questioning whether his date would give up her career to become a housewife — doubled down on his traditional values while speaking to hosts Kyle Sandilands and Mary Madigan.
During his appearance on Channel 7’s First Dates, Mr Blue-Allan was matched with 27-year-old nurse Kristal.
On their date, the self-described “10 out of 10” model immediately zeroed in on her career, asking if she would ever give up nursing to be a stay-at-home housewife.
When Kristal explained she was passionate about her career, Mr Blue-Allan suggested her desire to work was preventing her from finding a partner, famously asking, “Why would a man want to put effort into a woman who is independent?”
Now, Mr Blue-Allan has taken those controversial opinions a step further on Kyle Sandilands Live, which is Sandilands’ new show since leaving KIIS.
During the interview, Mr Blue-Allan revealed he would “probably never ever date an Australian woman ever again”, claiming that “the traditional wife in Australia is unheard of”.
When pressed by news reader, Ms Madigan, on what his ideal dynamic looks like, Mr Blue-Allan laid out a series of uncompromising ground rules.
He stressed that his woman would have no independent social life.
“No going out with the girls,” Mr Blue-Allan said on the show, confirming that his partner wouldn’t be allowed to visit the pub unless he was present.
He stated that he does not want his partner to work or have her own bank account, providing her only with a credit card linked to his phone, basically making her financially dependent on him.
“She has my card on her phone,” Mr Blue-Allan explained, confirming that he could cut off her financial access at any given point.
When asked if he retained the right to have “boys’ nights” out while restricting his partner, Mr Blue-Allan replied, “of course”.
Madigan openly challenged the set up, describing the complete financial dependency as a “pretty precarious position” and calling his comments “really scary”.
When Sandilands noted that Mr Blue-Allan appeared “very attacked”, Madigan responded, “I don’t care, he’s saying really scary things”.
Mr Blue-Allan defended his stance by claiming he was raised in a similar household by his parents, while Sandilands argued for the model’s right to a personal preference, stating, “there’s nothing wrong with different flavours … for variety of types of relationships”.
As expected with controversial opinions like this, social media was not on Mr Blue-Allan’s side, with Aussies expressing concerns about his views.
“On behalf of women in Australia, thank you for not wanting to date us,” one person commented on TikTok.
“Who is he, and why was he provided a platform to talk?” a second person wrote.
“That’s not a girlfriend. That’s a hostage situation,” a third chimed in.
“So basically he wants a slave?” another person questioned.

Many people were also disappointed with Sandilands’ stance and the way he handled the controversial conversation.

But although the men were slammed, Madigan’s fight back with Mr Allan-Blue was praised by many social media users.
