A teenage boy has been left in a critical condition after he was stabbed and stumbled to a neighbour’s house for help.
The 15-year-old boy was stabbed while he was in company with several other teenagers in Terrigal on Friday night.
After being stabbed the boy attended a home on Painters Lane seeking assistance where the homeowner called emergency services.
NSW paramedics treated the boy for stab wounds before he was taken to Gosford Hospital, where he is still in a critical condition.
The boy and the homeowner did not know each other prior to the incident.
Police say they have spoken to a number of teenagers in the area at the time but no arrests have been made.
Central Coast Councillor Jared Wright warned that youth crime in area was “on the rise”, while urging locals to do their part.
“If you are out in the community and see something that isn’t quite right, always report it to police and crime stoppers,” he said.
“Our local police have continually told us that there are countless incidents going unreported.”
Mr Wright said the thoughts of the community is with the 15-year old boy.
NSW Police urge anyone with any information or who were at the scene at the time to contact Gosford Police Station or call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
