The Sydney Swans star allegedly responsible for ordering the topless waitresses to the Pullman Hotel was Riley Bice, it has been claimed.
The defender is one of five players who have been stood down by the club following the incident.
Victoria Police continue to investigate as more details emerge from the early hours of Monday morning last week.
Channel 7 journalist Tom Morris reports Bice was the player responsible for paying the topless waitresses to come to the hotel.
“Riley Bice was the Sydney Swans player who organised the topless waitresses to come to the Pullman Hotel,” Morris said on The Agenda Setters.
“He’s the one who paid the topless waitresses to come to the hotel.
“Riley Bice was the single teammate, who was given the responsibility of doing something that has ultimately blown up the club and potentially the careers of four teammates.
“He is not without fault but I think he’s a young player that’s been put in a position by older teammates that should know a lot better.”
Sydney Swans declined to comment on the report as it is part of the police investigation.
It has also been reported by Channel 7 that four Swans officials, including head coach Dean Cox, have given statements to police.
Cops are believed to have spoken to head of football Leon Cameron, media manager Tom Chadwick and welfare boss Brett Kirk.
There is no suggestion any of the four were involved in the alleged incident.
The five players stood down by the Swans – Bice, Isaac Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey and James Jordon – have not been interviewed by police.
The Herald Sun revealed one of the women, an exotic dancer, claimed she was inappropriately touched “beyond what was agreed”.
A woman was reportedly “enraged” when one male in the room slapped her buttocks four times instead of the three slaps that had been agreed.
