Big Brother has officially packed its bags and left Dreamworld, with the reality juggernaut confirming its new home will be built in Brisbane.
Construction is now under way on a brand new Big Brother house at Screen Queensland Studios in Hemmant, marking a major shift for the revived series after previously filming at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast.
The Brisbane move had been flagged, but producers have now confirmed the location, with the new house to become the centre of the show’s 2026 season.
Host Mel Tracina said the relocation would usher in a new era for the franchise.
“Big Brother is relocating from the sunny Gold Coast to hot Bris-Vegas,” Tracina said.
“It’s a new location, with a new house, filled with new housemates but don’t worry, it’s still the same old scheming Big Brother in charge.”
The Hemmant studios have previously hosted major productions including Netflix hit Boy Swallows Universe, but will now be transformed to accommodate the show’s diary room, communal living spaces and around-the-clock cameras.
The 2026 season will also bring back live evictions, live nominations and live streaming, alongside a longer run.
Casting remains open until August 31, with producers searching for the next batch of housemates ahead of Big Brother’s Brisbane debut.
