Masked men armed with axes and machetes who smashed their way into a Perth home before a violent clash left two residents seriously injured have been charged with attempted murder.

Four intruders allegedly forced entry through broken front windows at a Currie St house in Warnbro about 2.25am on Monday, sparking a struggle inside as the occupants tried to fight them off.

Western Australia Police believe the incidents may be connected to organised crime and the illicit tobacco market.

A man in his 40s suffered stab wounds to the chest and abdomen, while a man in his 50s was stabbed in the lower back.

Both were taken to hospital with serious injuries and are expected to survive.

Investigators believe the same home had already been targeted late on Saturday night when several people tried to break in and smashed windows at the property.

Police suspect those damaged windows were then used to get inside during the second attack.

WA Police confirmed the four were arrested by police on Tuesday.

Detectives raided properties across the metro area at Inglewood, Canning Vale, Kelmscott, Perth and Highgate looking for the alleged offenders.

Keaton Ray Bryan, 26, from Inglewood and Ahmed Abdirashid Mohamed, 23, from Kelmscott were both charged with attempted murder, two counts of aggravated home burglary and intent to harm.

Another man Jaia Dale Carter, 25, from Highgate was charged with aggravated home burglary with intent, no authority to drive suspended, giving false personal details to police, possession of cannabis and breach of bail.

Nesta Wangetha Mwangi, 21, from Ellenbrook was also charged with aggravated home burglary.

All four men appeared in the Rockingham Magistrates Court and were remanded in custody on Wednesday.

They face court again next month.

“Incidents like this have no place in our community … we understand this incident will leave many local residents feeling unsettled,” a police spokesperson said.
