A prospect from the Hells Angels outlaw motorcycle gang faces charges after police alleged he forced an 18-year-old woman to stop, verbally abused her, and punched off her car mirror during a road rage incident.
Officers executed a search warrant at a residential address in East Bentleigh, south-east of Melbourne, early on Thursday.
Police seized a Hells Angels prospect vest – a vest worn by those who are not yet members – and a Hells Angels hooded jumper from the residence.
A 38-year-old man was charged with criminal damage and public display of prohibited insignia.
The man was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on February 8, 2027.
The charge follows an incident where an 18-year-old woman was driving along Dandenong Road in Murrumbeena, south-east of Melbourne CBD, about 11pm on August 17.
Police will allege the woman was cut off and made to stop by the vehicle driven by the 38-year-old man.
The man got out of his vehicle and allegedly verbally abused the woman before punching the passenger-side mirror, which then fell off.
Dashcam footage captured the whole incident and showed the man allegedly wearing a Hells Angels prospect vest with a Hells Angels hooded jumper underneath.
The woman was not physically harmed.
Police urge members of the public with any information on outlaw motorcycle gang activity to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
