To celebrate Back to Hogwarts Day, HBO Max is transforming Sydney’s Australia Post’s Sydney GPO into the magical scene from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone which saw countless letters rain down on Harry after the his miserable Aunt and Uncle hid his previous acceptance letters.
To truly immerse yourself in the magical world of Harry Potter, The Harry Potter Owl experience will feature an incredible letter swarm activation so you can truly feel what it was like for Harry in that moment. Better yet, it’s set up to be the perfect photo opportunity amongst the flurry of letters.
There is also a whimsical letter writing opportunity with feather quills and wax seals, so that young witches and wizards can send their spellbinding letters to whomever they please… even if the recipient is a muggle.

According to Sasha Mackie, the Senior Director of Marketing at Warner Brothers Discovery Australia and New Zealand, bringing to life this special moment for Harry Potter fans is extremely special.
“For Harry Potter fans, few moments are as special as receiving a letter from Hogwarts,” she explains.
“Through our partnership with Australia Post, the Owl Post Experience brings that magic to life, inviting fans of all ages to put quill to paper, send a little enchantment, and celebrate Back to Hogwarts, ahead of the HBO Original Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone series launch at Christmas.”
The Harry Potter Owl Post Experience takes place on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30 from 11am to 5pm.
Along with the annual Back To Hogwarts day, Harry Potter and the Philosopher‘s Stone marks its 25th anniversary this year! So, to celebrate, the film is returning to cinemas across Australia along with 12 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage shown on the big screen for the very first time.

The Harry Potter Owl Experience takes place in Sydney at the Australia Post — Sydney GPO at 1 Martin Place, Sydney.
