Development approval has been filed for a new apartment complex in South Brisbane, set to bring 161 homes right next to from one of the city’s most anticipated new precincts.
The 20-storey apartment complex is being developed by TRK Property Group, and will rest on the 1,917 sqm site at 176-186 Montague Rd.
A range of one to four-bedroom units will be on offer for buyers, made as part of the Kurilpa precinct’s transformation into a high-density residential area.
TRK Property Group development director Matt Kan said the building would complement the upcoming redevelopment of the former Visy glass factory site, set to bring a mixed-use precinct right across the road from their project.
“South Brisbane is entering an incredibly exciting period, and we see Montague Road sitting right at the heart of that evolution,” he said.
“We will leverage the unique position of the development with the upcoming Visy site redevelopment, balancing resident amenity with the public amenities that will be on offer at [our] doorstep.”
Residents will have access to exclusive recreation, wellness and gathering areas on the site, which is expected to have 1,815 sqm of communal open space.
The project features a subtropical design by COX Architecture, made to blend with the nearby Brisbane River; with many units directly overlooking both the river and the nearby CBD.
While a name and prices are both yet to be determined, Mr Kan said the building would offer packages for both first-home buyers and long-term downsizers.
“The apartments will provide a great range of opportunity,” he said. “We will curate an offer for purchasers seeking their first home and entry into the property market, investors, owner-occupiers, and those seeking to remain in the area and continue the legacy of generations of family that built a strong bond with the South Brisbane and West End community.”
The project is aiming for completion in the next few years, as part of a pipeline of developments set to be finished by TRK before the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
