Australia’s newest millionaire has finally claimed their Weekday Windfall prize following a public appeal from lottery bosses.
However, those hoping to learn of the lucky winner’s identity may need to look for the signs.
Last week. The Lott issued a public appeal after a single division one winning ticket was purchased at Topz Shopz in Brahma Lodge, north of Adelaide.
Almost a week had passed and the winner, who did not register with the lottery company, had not come forward to claim their prize.
On Monday, the search for the winner, who was set for a $1m windfall, came to an end after they presented themselves.
But the lucky winner has decided against sharing their victory with the world, instead opting to remain tight-lipped and celebrate in private.
“If you see someone wandering around Brahma Lodge with a beaming smile on their face, they just might be our latest division one winner,” The Lodge spokesman Matt Hart said.
“We often hear players say they will share it with their family and loved ones and give to charities close to their harts.
“Other players tell us they are going to use their windfall to renovate or upgrade their homes, buy a shiny new car and plan a long-awaited holiday.
“However, our winner plans to enjoy their prize, we hope it makes a big difference to their life.”
Topz Shopz assistant manager Rebecca Schultz said it was the third time a division one prize winning entry had been purchased at the store.
“Congratulations to our winner, we wish them the very best with their prize,” she said.
“It had been a few years, so we’re glad to have another winner”
The mystery winner has become the 248th division one winner in 2026 and the 23rd in South Australia.
