Melbourne’s radio breakfast ratings have provided a rollercoaster ride for a number of high-profile shows, while a once dominant weekend slot has posted a historic slump.
FOX FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick, Triple M’s Mick In the Morning and SEN breakfast posted the biggest falls, the latest radio ratings survey released Tuesday morning shows.
FOX FM’s Fifi, Fev and Nick ended the latest ratings period with an 8.9 per cent market share of the breakfast audience, down from a 10 per cent share in the prior survey.
Triple M’s Mick In the Morning fell to 5.4 per cent from 6.3 per cent and SEN breakfast to 5.1 per cent from 6.3 per cent.
Heading in the other direction, Nova’s Jase, Lauren and Clint improved to 10.8 per cent while GOLD FM’s Christian O’Connell hit 10 per cent and smoothfm’s Mike Perso lifted to 8.4 per cent.
3AW Saturday afternoon footy recorded its lowest figure with a 4.4 per cent share of its timeslot.
That is down from a 9.3 per cent reading in the same period last year. Sunday’s rated 6.3.
In better news, 3AW’s Ross and Russel dropped slightly by 0.6 percentage points but were still dominant in breakfast on a hefty 19.5 per cent market share.
Mornings host Tom Elliott had a big result, rising from 16.3 per cent to 17.4 per cent.
ABC breakfast with Bob Murphy and Richelle Hunt gained listeners, rising from 5.3 per cent to 6.6 per cent, but Raf Epstein in the mornings slot fell marginally from 6.2 per cent to 6.1 per cent.
SEN had recently recorded its highest figures but dropped in mornings and drive, during a hot time for sport.
Afternoons with Dwayne Russell was the only increase, picking up 0.3 of a percentage point.
In drive 3AW’s Jacqui Felgate went up from 9.4 per cent to 9.6 per cent to rise above Triple M and Nova.
It was also good news for the leading GOLD FM which went from 9.7 to 10.7 per cent and which includes Eddie McGuire’s new GOLD Sport show at 6pm on Fridays and Mondays.
