Footage showing a Coles employee engaging in a sexually explicit act while stacking shelves at a supermarket in Adelaide’s northern suburbs has been shared to a porn website.
A Coles spokeswoman confirmed in a statement on Monday that the female employee involved no longer worked at the company.
The Advertiser understands the woman resigned.
The supermarket giant released the statement after launching an investigation into the material, including a video where the woman appeared to be touching herself in a sexual manner at a Paralowie supermarket.
The content was allegedly posted to xHamsterLive – a website advertised as a platform for “free live sex webcams” with “hundreds of models … performing live sex shows 24/7”.
In screenshots of the videos obtained by The Advertiser, the woman can be seen stacking the shelves in the freezer aisle of a Coles supermarket with products from a pile of cardboard boxes.
In several of the images, the woman adopted a suggestive pose, facing the camera with one hand inside the crotch of her black shorts.
In another image, she is captured wearing a black polo shirt with a Coles logo while sitting in front of a notice board where “Coles Paralowie” is clearly written.
A Coles spokeswoman said “the team member involved” no longer worked for the company following investigations into the woman’s identity.
“As a business, we expect appropriate and professional behaviour in our workplaces,” the spokeswoman said.
Meanwhile, The Advertiser verified the existence of the woman’s xHamsterLive account.
Screenshots showed the woman’s profile had 63 photos and more than 30 videos, most of which were behind a paywall.
Paralowie resident Sandy, who wished to only be identified by her first name, on Monday said she was “shocked” to learn about the woman’s “bizarre” act.
The 64-year-old said she had lived in the area for 28 years and was a regular patron of Paralowie Coles.
“She obviously has no morals,” Sandy said of the woman in the video.
Another shopper, who works in the adult entertainment industry as a topless waitress, told of her disbelief that the former employee had made sexually explicit videos at her workplace.
The 33-year-old Paralowie local and mother requested anonymity, but shared her concern about the woman’s choice of setting to film the content.
“I come here twice a day sometimes with my kids,” she said.
“You’re always wary about what happens to your food before you buy it, but this is different.”
She said food items were commonly used as props in the adult entertainment industry, but if the woman wanted to incorporate a supermarket theme in her content she should have paid for the products and filmed the videos in a private space.
“I’ve been at parties where people have used fruit and veggies (in their act), but there is a certain setting where it is appropriate,” she said.
