Alice Hughes appears to be standing by her partner, Swans star Chad Warner, as the couple were seen out together in Sydney.
Warner has gone to ground since he, Isaac Heeney, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice were stood down for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season for breaching club standards by staying out late drinking and bringing exotic dancers to the hotel on the morning of Monday, August 17 following a round 23 win over Essendon in Melbourne.
He is one of the five players that is reportedly set to be spoken to by Victoria Police this week, as they investigate an alleged sexual assault during that night at the Melbourne hotel.
The Swans players have denied any criminal wrongdoing, and no charges have been laid. The police investigation remains ongoing.
Heeney has been the focus of the investigation so far, and his fiancee, Steffanie Waters, reportedly left their Sydney home amid the fallout and headed up to Noosa to get away following the scandal.
However, it appears Hughes is happy to remain in Sydney by the side of her longtime partner and Swans gun Warner.
Pictures show the couple walking the streets and looking relatively cheery on Tuesday, ahead of the Swans’ qualifying final showdown against defending premiers Brisbane on Saturday afternoon at the SCG.
Warner was dressed in a navy blue zip-up sweatshirt, long blue jean shorts and sandals.
While Hughes stepped out in a casual black jumper, grey jeans and black flats.
The pair have been together for several years and relocated to Sydney after Warner was drafted to the Swans in 2019.
Hughes is a practising nurse and formerly worked as a pilates instructor.
The couple’s public outing also comes after Hughes had to cancel her Brownlow Medal plans after the ‘Pullman 5’ were barred from the event.
The Herald Sun reports Hughes was set to be styled by leading stylist Paul Versace of Styled by Bloom and had been preparing a gown for her by Oglia-Loro Couture for footy’s night of nights.
However, after the scandal emerged and punishments were handed down, she will no longer be attending the feature event later this month.
Hughes also made the decision to turn her Instagram account to private after her comment section was inundated following news of the police investigation.
The couples outing comes after multiple reports claimed four Swans officials, who were not in the hotel room at the centre of the police investigation and have not been accused of inappropriate behaviour, voluntarily gave statements to police.
The four officials named by various outlets were Sydney coach Dean Cox, football boss Leon Cameron, head of welfare Brett Kirk and media and communications boss Tom Chadwick. Cameron, Kirk and Chadwick reportedly travelled back to Sydney with the five Swans players in two cars after news of the police probe came to light.
