The Sydney Swans saga is still at the top of the media discussion as finals are now well underway.
We know of the players allegedly involved, so we don’t need to go into detail on all of that; it’s been done.
But the futures of the players who have been named are certainly a topic of discussion, as some are of the view that the club simply can’t have them play for the club again.
And that means rival clubs might come calling, looking for a discount.

For Jon Ralph, who was on Fox Footy’s Midweek Tackle, he states that the Swans are now thinking that if they want cultural change, then some of the players allegedly involved might have to be moved on.
“It’s faced with an impossible decision,” Ralph said via Fox Sports. “It’s my understanding they’re coming to the realisation they might have to move on some of those players to make profound cultural change. And to signify how much they’re prepared to change, it’ll almost take a step back from a performance point of view.
“But if Sydney does consider those change it knows it’s taking cents on the dollar; it knows those rival clubs will effectively be vultures, picking over its carcass, of its very best players.”
What should Swans do?
Well, this is the big topic of discussion, isn’t it?
Some are of the view that the players shouldn’t be allowed back into the club, while others think it might be a long time before they are even welcomed back.
It is a delicate situation, and yes, we are looking at this solely through a football lens, and we also can’t forget about the alleged victims either.
What the Swans do or don’t do will be interesting to watch, but if they want their “Bloods” culture to be rebuilt, then maybe moving on might be the best thing to do.
