The North Melbourne Football Club shocked the football world by announcing that they had sacked premiership coach Alastair Clarkson.
After four years at the helm and just 20 wins from 82 games, the Roos decided it was time to move on, as Clarkson had just one year left on his contract.
The media conference from Sonja Hood and Todd Viney was brutal, to say the least, with Hood stating, “”This club needs a coach that can coach for the modern game,” plus saying that Clarkson no longer had the belief of enough people inside the club.
So yeah, it was brutal. And Clarkson and his camp weren’t fans of how the press conference played out.

In fact, according to Tom Morris, who was on Channel 7’s Agenda Setters, the Clarkson camp is fuming.
“The Alastair Clarkson camp, and Alastair Clarkson himself, are seething about the way the media conference played out at North Melbourne,” Morris said.
Roos to go through coaching search…again
Since Brad Scott was moved on back in 2019, the Roos simply haven’t managed to get “the guy” to lead this team out of the AFL doldrums.
Now, the thought was that Clarkson was that person, but after four years and finishing no higher than 14th (this year’s position), and with the game plan reportedly outdated, the Roos decided to move on.
So now the Roos will embark on another coaching search after Clarkson failed to do what he was brought to the club to do, although he did bring stability to the club.
Who the Roos will go for is unknown, but one thing we do know: Clarkson and his camp aren’t fans of how the press conference went down.
