One Nation has refused to comment after they were caught misrepresenting one of their Victorian candidate’s qualifications.
Pauline Hanson’s party announced an additional 13 Victorian election candidates on Wednesday. But within hours the party had been accused of lying in its Richmond candidates’ biography.
The list of candidates on the party’s website had claimed Harrison Rindfleish “grew up on the NSW Central Coast before completing a double degree in law and commerce in Melbourne”.
However the candidate’s LinkedIn profile – which has since been deleted – shows he is a student and is yet to complete any university qualification.
“I’m currently studying a double degree in Law and Commerce (majoring in Economics),” a cached version of the profile states.
Screenshots of the page shared on Reddit list two law degrees, one at Swinburne and the other at Deakin, with both listing 2028 as their completion date (this typically indicates the person has transferred from one university to another).
Commenters on the Reddit post also pointed out the candidate’s claim to have spent a “stint in business development in Japan” appeared to refer to a three-month internship he completed in 2024-25.
One Nation has been called out on social media over the false qualification claims, with one social media post on X currently showing 89,000 views in less than 24 hours, while an Instagram post has received more than 15,000 likes.
In response, the party has quietly altered the description of Harrison Rindfleish, with both versions now stating that he is “undertaking” the double degree.
When News24 contacted One Nation about the change, a spokesperson said they would not be commenting on the matter.
